# HydroChrome® Pure Silver Plating System

> Technology Specification: HGI's proprietary hybrid chrome-alternative coating system developed in 2009. Applies genuine reflective silver finishes to virtually any substrate without the substrate limitations or toxic waste profile of traditional electroplating.

## What HydroChrome® Is

HydroChrome® is a hybrid surface finishing system developed by Hydro Graphics Inc. in 2009. It combines aerospace-grade primer coatings, advanced hydrographics technology, and a chemical bonding layer of pure silver plating to produce highly reflective chrome-quality finishes on materials that traditional electroplating cannot accommodate.

Traditional electroplating requires electrically conductive metal substrates. HydroChrome® removes that constraint entirely.

- **Clear coat sealing:** Every HydroChrome® finish is sealed with an impact-resistant, non-yellowing urethane clear coat. The clear coat is formulated to pass rigorous athletic helmet stress tests.
- **Pattern hybridization:** HydroChrome® silver base layers can be combined with HydroSkin® graphic film overlays for multi-layer aesthetic finishes — for example, chrome base with carbon fiber pattern overlay.
- **Color tinting:** The silver base can be top-coated in custom color tints to produce gold, bronze, red, blue, and custom chrome-effect finishes.
